Bison, Foxes, Lynx and Vegas?

We all made it safely in Yellowknife yesterday and the dogs did great.  Spent the night in Yellowknife and this morning we headed over to Old Town and went to Gallery of the Midnight Sun before we headed out on the road.  So here we sit in High Level, Alberta relaxing.

We seen alot of wildlife in between Yellowknife and High Level, 4 cross foxes, a lynx and two herds of bison.  Took pictures of one of the foxes and the bison but missed the lynx as he was long gone when we turned around.  From the MacKenzie River we drove in the dark to High Level.  The ferry on the MacKenzie is the only one that is still running on a daily basis and we were surprised by the progress of the bridge over the river.  There is only one span of the bridge base that needs to be completed, in September there were 3 spans that needed to be completed.

There is a small strip of hotels here in High Level that resembles old Vegas.  There are three hotels with the same name as the famous ones in Las Vegas, The Stardust, Flamingo and Sahara light up the street.

Tonight I will head to bed as soon as I am completed this as we have a long drive from here to Edmonton where we will spend one day and then head directly to Manitoba from there.

Talk soon!
