Tundra Fun

Saturday nights are spent at Gary & Kate's home as this is where the boys get together to play and sing songs.  Gary is the drummer of the band, Ryan is the guitar player, Terry plays bass and sings and Craig plays keyboards, guitar and also sings.  The rest of us that come along are their groupies.  It is always a fun night as they play a few songs then come and spend some time with the 'audience' then return to play some more songs.  There is always someone from the audience that joins in and last night Darryl had his harmonica with him so he helped them along.  Gary pulled out a pot of homemade soup last night and we all had a bowl or two.  Thank you Kate!!

Today we headed out onto the tundra with the dogs to give them a run.  We have brought only Molly out once so today was a treat for everyone.  We went through and past the North Warning Site where Craig works but had to stop and turn around after a few miles due to the snow drifts.  We found a good spot away from the waters and let the hounds free.  Molly & Blitz did go out of their minds at first running a hundred miles an hour and then something caught their attention...an old raven's nest on top of a boulder.  Ohhh the smells out on the tundra. The winds were a bit crisp today so we were only out for about an hour.  Blitz did get a small cut on one of his front pads but he is just fine.  There are only rocks out there and some of them are very sharp so we have to watch them, we look for a place with more snow then rocks.

Tonight was spent in front of the television watching Amazing Race after that I talked to my friend Sandy and edited some pictures for the blog as Craig put up some shelves in the storage (barge) room.  I ran out of paint for the storage room and entrance so I will head to the hardware store tomorrow to pick up some more so that I can finish this project.

The pictures today are from last night and of the dogs out on the tundra.

Talk soon!
