Yesterday was Antigua Day here at the Grand Pineapple Resort with festivities starting about 11:30am with Kerry getting the crowd dancing before lunch which was served buffet style with seating outdoors. The lunch was very Caribbean with rice with beans, jerk chicken, goat curry and of course all of the other side dishes. The remaining of the afternoon was filled with t-shirt Tye dying, lessons on how to mix island drinks but we decided that I would stay on the beach and the remaining of our clan would go snorkeling. Craig took the Go Pro out and took a few shots of some fishies.
The evening we headed over to the Pineapple Grill for dinner, which again was fantastic. Our newly formed friends from England were leaving today so we met them after dinner for a few drinks and dancing at the bar. Much to our surprise the entertainment last night were two ladies demonstrating some Antigua dancing and a group of young children, ages 4 to 17 singing and playing drums. It was a great evening spent with old and new friends.
Tonight we will get together with Liz and Janet for dinner, the ladies that we met our first night here, as they will be leaving on Monday. Tomorrow we take a 90 minute motorized catamaran ride to the Island of Barbuda for the day.
Talk soon!
